UK children’s entertainment sensation The Tweenies will headline a busy program of free family entertainment at the Springfield Lakes’ fifth birthday celebrations, the Spring Into Springfield Lakes Festival on Saturday, 16 October.
The Tweenies, which is the biggest stage show ever produced by the British Broadcasting Commission, will hop off their Australian tour to perform two not-to-be-missed performances for Spring Into Springfield Lakes Festival-goers.
Along with The Tweenies there will be canoeing on Spring Lake, train rides, “Life, Be In It” games and activities for the whole family, free giveaways for children and adults, a Tweenies colouring competition, a movie night , a jazz trio and fireworks. There will be a free sausage sizzle lunch and stalls selling cold drinks all afternoon.
Springfield Lakes Project Director Marc Wilkinson said the fifth birthday of Springfield Lakes was a great reason for the community to come together and celebrate.
“Our fifth birthday is an important milestone for the Springfield Lakes community to celebrate so we have planned a Festival that will appeal to all ages,” said Mr Wilkinson.
“The Tweenies are set to draw hundreds of families to the Festival but a leisurely afternoon lunching and listening to jazz by the Lake will also appeal to those adults without children in tow.
“In just five years Springfield Lakes has become both Australia’s highest selling and fastest growing community and we have a living environment and lifestyle we can all be proud of.
“So come on down to the Spring Into Springfield Lakes Festival and see the best of Springfield Lakes and the vibrant , healthy outdoor lifestyle it promotes,” he said.
The Festival will run from 1pm to 9pm on Saturday 16 October and it will be held in the Spring Lake District Park, Springfield Lakes Boulevard, Springfield Lakes.
The Tweenies will be on stage at 1.30pm and then again at 3.30pm.
Springfield Lakes is being developed by Delfin Lend Lease, Australia’s largest developer of master-planned communities with more than 20 projects across Australia.
